3hr MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID FOR STUDY ABROAD
This course is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to provide Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) to students in a UK study abroad context. The course will help participants understand the unique mental health challenges faced by students studying abroad and how to effectively support them. Participants will learn how to identify signs of mental distress, provide initial support, and guide students towards appropriate professional help.
Description
The primary aim of this course is to prepare participants to confidently and competently offer Mental Health First Aid to students on a UK Study abroad program. By the end of the session, participants will have a thorough understanding of mental health challenges in a study abroad context and be equipped with practical skills to support students in distress.
The course will also cover cultural sensitivities and legal considerations relevant to mental health in the UK.
