The course combines online learning, which covers theoretical elements, with a face-to-face practical session to develop hands-on skills. Once payment is confirmed, you will receive an email within 24 hours containing your login details for the e-learning module, which must be completed prior to attending the practical session.

The face-to-face training day indicated will provide hands-on experience, equipping you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to respond effectively to emergencies involving infants and children. 

Upon successfully completing both the e-learning module and the practical training, you will be issued your 12hr Blended Paediatric First Aid Certificate at the end of the face-to-face session. 

Prerequisites

Certificate Gained

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive an accredited 12 Blended Paediatric First Aid Certificate. This certificate is valid for three years and meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, making it fully recognised by OFSTED. It demonstrates the delegate's competence in providing first aid to infants and children in emergencies.

The certificate is awarded after completing both the online module and the face-to-face practical assessment, ensuring a thorough understanding of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the Blended Paediatric First Aid course, learners will gain knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • Recognise and manage anaphylaxis in infants and children.
  6. Bites and Stings
    • Understand and apply treatments for bites and stings.
  7. First Aid for Burns, Bleeding, Seizures, and Choking
    • Deliver effective first aid for a range of emergencies, including choking, bleeding, burns, seizures, and more.

Delivery Method

The 12-hour Blended Paediatric First Aid course is delivered in two parts: an online module and a face-to-face practical session. Delegates will first complete an engaging, self-paced online module, covering essential theoretical knowledge, such as recognising common childhood illnesses, managing injuries, and responding to medical emergencies. This is followed by a dynamic in-person session where trained instructors guide participants through practical first aid techniques, including CPR, choking management, and handling minor and major injuries.

The course is run by highly qualified and experienced first aid trainers who are passionate about creating a supportive and professional learning environment. Delegates will practice their skills using industry-standard equipment, such as child and infant manikins, in comfortable, well-equipped surroundings.
