The Conducting Welfare Checks e-learning course provides participants with the knowledge and practical understanding required to appropriately check on the wellbeing of international students. The course explores the purpose of welfare checks, the ethical and professional responsibilities involved, and how to approach situations where a person may be vulnerable, distressed, or unresponsive. Participants will learn how to recognise early warning signs of concern, communicate sensitively, and take appropriate action while maintaining respect, professionalism, and safeguarding awareness. The training is particularly relevant for staff working with students, young people, or individuals in supported environments where regular welfare monitoring may be required.
